Welcome

HACSU represents more than 8000 members working in Tasmania’s Health and Community Services sectors. We constantly aim to improve members’ working lives by negotiating improvements in conditions and wages, protecting rights at work and offering Member Benefits that ease cost-of-living pressures. Get in touch to tell us what you think!

Tasmanian Public Sector Workers have spoken! In a comprehensive survey, co-commissioned by HACSU and the CPSU,   public sector workers have provided invaluable data about their workplace satisfaction: What they like, what they don’t, what concerns them, etc. The  survey makes for fascinating reading. Download it here (it’s 42 pages so may take some time).

Meanwhile, check out the Stand Up 2013 campaign page for more about the HACSU-CPSU campaign for better public services and fairness at work in Tasmania.

Australians deserve to age well

The Aged Care Workforce Compact is a vindication for the hundreds of aged care workers across Tasmania who volunteered their time to participate in HACSU’s Fair Share for Aged Care campaign – organising petitions, lobbying politicians and taking our case to the people.

It is important that HACSU continues to encourage eligible employers to sign up to the Workforce Compact. There is a risk that some short-sighted employers may otherwise seek to circumvent the reforms, in order to keep their employees on historically low wages.

Share this film through your networks on social media and email. Get the message out there that workforce justice is vital because all Australians deserve to age well!
