HACSU has received a revised offer for the Hospital Staff 2017 Agreement before the next meeting on Thursday, 6 April 2017.
HACSU has received an updated offer from Calvary for your Hospital Staff Enterprise Agreement.
Calvary have said they want the new Agreement to be for a period of two years, although they haven’t provided a reason for this change.
HACSU is pleased to say that the new pay offer includes 3% increases per annum in two instalments for the two years of the proposed Agreement.
While this is good news, HACSU is disappointed that Calvary proposes to remove paid meal break entitlements for all new staff employed after the new Agreement is approved. This inconsistency would create friction between new employees and existing employees because Calvary in effect is proposing that new employees, despite being on the same wage rates as existing employees, will be paid between $1200 and $2400 less per annum than their colleagues.
HACSU will continue to bargain to retain important entitlements for all our Members, both current and future. The next bargaining meeting will be held in Hobart on 6 April 2017.
Following the meeting, HACSU will be visiting Calvary hospitals in coming weeks to seek Member feedback.
