HACSU has sought assurances that employees will be given paid time for compulsory training.

It has come to HACSU’s attention that Healthscope Nurses have been asked to complete compulsory training in their own time, so the Union has written to Healthscope to address this issue.

HACSU reminded Healthscope that the completion of compulsory training is an employment requirement, and time for this training must be allowed for in paid working hours. HACSU sought assurances that all Healthscope employees were being given time during their shifts to complete compulsory training.

Healthscope responded with:
“Employees have access to all the requirements to complete their mandatory training during paid time. If an employee is not up to date they are responsible to inform their manager who will allocate appropriate resources.”

Members are encouraged to contact HACSU if they continue to be affected by this issue.
