Management expects Members to bargain for conditions that they already have. This shows a total lack of respect for their workers.
Menarock is a For-Profit organisation and it’s all about the $$$ in their pockets! Once conditions are removed they will never be regained!
HACSU strongly argued at the first bargaining meeting on Thursday, 9 March 2017 that our preference is to commence bargaining with the current Agreement and not with the draft Agreement that management has provided – a draft which strips away many of your current conditions.
HACSU again wrote to Menarock on Wednesday, 29 March insisting that the current The Gardens Agreement should be the document used throughout the bargaining process. We also requested confirmation that it is not Menarock’s intention to reduce conditions.
HACSU received correspondence from Menarock advising not only that they refuse to use the current The Gardens Agreement as the draft document, but they also would not confirm that employees’ conditions would not be reduced.
Members should feel extremely angry and let down that their new employer Menarock has taken such an anti-worker stance! Members made the transmission of business run smoothly for residents at Menarock and this is how your new employer repays them, trying to rip away their conditions.
