I advise my employer that I need to look after my sick child do I still get paid my wages?

Most Awards include Carers Leave which means that employees may use up to five days per year of their accrued sick leave to care for ill members of their immediate family. A part -time employee who receives the 20% loading may have an equal amoumt of unpaid time off per year to look after ill members of their immediate family.
