The nomads of LGH look for reclassification

"I've been moved 6 times," a member said. "We've moved so often people don't know who we are or where we are. Every time they need a new ward, they think where can they relocate the Finance Department. One day they will forget where they put us so they won't be able to move us anymore" said another.

Yes, they've been moved so many times HACSU is thinking of putting in an application for a tent allowance. They are the nomads of the public service, the LGH Finance Department, and they are now facing another move.

And of course, with all the moves and re-organisations, they have had to become a very flexible workforce.

Duties have been added, and new skills have been required.
But have these "higher duties" been recognised? Er, would it surprise you to know they haven't. Members of the Finance Department are currently having to fight hard to win reclassification and for recognition of the higher duties they are undertaking.

But if management wants them to move again, they will have to recognise the fact that they are performing higher duties and have been doing so for quite some time.
