Labor States Support $18 Increase to Minimum Wages

Labor states, including Tasmania, have decided to support an $18 a week increase for low-paid workers in response to the ACTU’s 2003 living wage claim of $24.60 a week.

The $18 is the same amount awarded by the Living Wage full bench last year and is aimed at putting pressure on the Federal Government to support an increase higher than the $10 it backed last year.
