Regional Imaging Worksite Committee Solving ProblemsEmployees working for Regional Imaging are joining HACSU following the establishment of a HACSU Worksite Committee. The Worksite Committee was established to work proactively and consultatively with management as industrial issues arise. Members believed a collective approach was vital at a time when the company was looking at internal restructuring and major industry-wide changes are a distinct possibility. The HACSU Worksite Committee has worked with management and negotiated an Enterprise Agreement that has now been registered with the Tasmanian Industrial Commission. As a result of the Agreement, the Worksite Committee and management are working together on the on-going internal restructure of the organisation and the implementation of the EBA. Donna James, the HACSU Training Officer, has worked with the Worksite Committee to identify their training needs and Worksite Committee members recently undertook the "Introduction to Worksite Committees" training. Other training options have been discussed with the Worksite Committee and will be taken up by them in the coming months. Due to the success of the Worksite Committee in the North, members are hoping to set up a similar committee in the North West of the State. The success of the Worksite Committee at Regional Imaging is a clear indication that the union is a positive influence at the worksite. All non-members are urged to participate in the decision making at the worksite by joining HACSU and working with the Worksite Committee to achieve change.
