NHPPD Guidelines released

The new Nursing Hours Per Patient Day Guidelines have now been released.

Following the agreement between the unions and the Department of Health and Human Services in the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) the parties have met on several occasions to develop guidelines for the implementation of the Nursing Hours Per Patient Day (NHPPD) model.

The guidelines will assist nurses to understand the effect the NHPPD model will have at the ward/unit level. Discussions are continuing regarding the process to be undertaken for the benchmarking of other areas both within and beyond the acute sector.

The new guidelines are available on the HACSU website. If you require further information please contact your HACSU delegate or the Nursing Organiser in your region.
