Get involved in a process that will control nurses workloads

The Nursing Hours Per Patient Day (NHPPD) is an historic process that provides a benchmark for staff to patient ratios.

NHPPD is a process aimed at controlling spiraling nurse workloads, with the aim of assisting in the retention and recruitment of nurses.

Workload Monitoring Committees have been established at each of the three regional public hospitals to oversee implementation. There are vacancies for HACSU members on the NWRH and RHH committees.

This is an excellent opportunity for members to get involved and become proactive about the workload issues facing nurses in the public system.

If you would like to participate, please contact Leanne McDougall on 6231 2253 or email leanne@hacsutas.net.au
Meetings of the NHPPD Industrial Consultative Committee have been scheduled on a regular basis since the implementation of the NHPPD model.

Copies of the status reports outlining progress to date are now available.
