Calvary Members negotiating new EBAThe current Calvary Healthcare (Tasmania) Enterprise Agreement 2001 expired on June 30th 2004. A new agreement is being negotiated between Calvary Healthcare’s management and HACSU members. HACSU staff have conducted a number of meetings at Calvary Hospital, St Johns Hospital and the Rehabilitation campus at New Town, where members were able to discuss the clauses they wanted added or amended from the previous agreement. Some of the changes requested include, A draft proposal was completed after the second round of meetings and forwarded to Allan Boston, Chief Executive Officer, of Calvary Healthcare. Nominations were called for a person from each worksite to represent the members during the negotiations. The following people were elected, A meeting has been conducted between the elected representatives and HACSU organisers to discuss the differences between the members' wishes and Calvary's proposal and how to negotiate towards a preferred outcome. Negotiations between Calvary management and HACSU representatives commenced in late July to determine the final document. Members from Calvary Healthcare will need to demonstrate their commitment towards a better deal to receive the improved working conditions and wage increase they deserve.
