North West Hospital members campaign for better securityHACSU members working at the North West Regional Hospital are campaigning hard for improved security measures following a series of violent incidents at the hospital and some serious injuries to staff. Members want guards onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So concerned are the HACSU Delegates that they are taking their case out to the general public and undertaking a community campaign. Members believe the North West is being treated as second class. "We are the only major hospital which doesn't have 24/7 security," members said. "There has been some increase in security measures but they are just not enough." "You can't tell when these things are going to happen. These incidents are serious and people don't wait for business hours to come in."
