Ambulance staffing on the North West gets a big boostAfter strong lobbying by HACSU members and a determined campaign, the agreed increase of twenty-five additional staff for the Tasmanian Ambulance Service in the northwest region has started to flow into the service. "Whilst it is recognised that in the short to medium term this additional staffing may present some problems in rostering and providing appropriate training to students, the longer term will see adequate staffing levels for the region," HACSU Assistant Secretary, Tim Jacobson said. "The North West community will be able to breathe a lot easier knowing that in the event of an emergency, there are adequate ambulance resources to provide the necessary care." "The additional staffing in the North West starts to address resourcing issues across the State. HACSU will be pursuing additional staffing in both the northern and southern regions in the near future."
