Appointment of North-West Organiser, Mark Fagan

HACSU is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Fagan to the position of Industrial Organiser for the North West Region. Mark fills the position left vacant by Shane Littler.

Mark comes to us with a strong background in the union movement previously filling a delegates and senior delegates role with the AMWU covering the Australian Paper sites in Tasmania.

He first started working at the Wesley Vale mill in 1989 as a machine operator and in 1995 was elected as a union delegate. In 1999 he was elected the Senior Delegate taking control of all Wesley Vale site issues and also assisting with the Burnie mill.

In that time he as negotiated Federal EBAs for all of Aust Paper sites as well as local site agreements. He has been a member of a number of different worksite committees including Industrial Relations and OH&S and headed negotiations with policy changes and site restructuring.

Mark will now be out and about over the next few weeks visiting as many sites as possible and introducing himself to delegates and members.

Mark says he is looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead for him working for HACSU.
