Draft Patient Transport Review Report to go to Members

The draft report of the Patient Transport Service, operated by the Department of Health and Human Services, is all but complete and ready to be put to members.

An interim report has been provided to the Executive of the Hospitals and Ambulance Service, with a copy being provided to HACSU officials.

HACSU has written to the Director of Hospitals and Ambulance, Dr. Anne Brand, requesting a copy of a final draft report for consideration and input by HACSU members.

The service as it currently exists operates in all three regions, with the southern service operated by the Tasmanian Ambulance Service. Northern and North Western Services are managed by the Launceston General Hospital and the North West Regional Hospitals respectively.

HACSU has sought a commitment that any recommendations flowing from the report will not be implemented without due and proper consultation.
