North West Regional Hospital members win better Security

After months of campaigning North West Regional Hospital HACSU members have won the battle to increase hospital security.

Members working at the North West Hospital took a very strong stand following a series of violent incidents, campaigning within the hospital and out in the community.

Hours away from significant industrial action HACSU Delegates met with management in one final attempt to resolve this prolonged dispute.

At this meeting management finally agreed to immediately implement 24-hour 7-day week security. Management also agreed to station 2 security guards at the hospital of an evening and night.

Well done to everyone concerned including those HACSU members from other parts of the hospital who supported attendants, A&E and Spencer Clinic workers who initiated the campaign.
