New Organiser for the North-WestCymone de Schipper started work in the Devonport HACSU office in May. Cymone previously worked for P&O Ports as a wharfie – the only female wharfie in Tasmania. While at P&O, Cymone was an active Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) delegate and member of the MUA National Women's Committee. Cymone says she made the shift from committed union member to paid union organiser because she "wanted to be a little more active." "I've always wanted to change the world and I like making sure people get what they are entitled to in their working lives," she said. Cymone replaces Robbie Moore, who has transferred to the Southern HACSU office in Hobart. Cymone will be primarily working for members in the North-West Private Sector, with Mark Fagan making the switch to the Public Sector.
