2006 Delegates Conference – 16 & 17 NovemberAfter the success of last year’s Delegates Conference, where almost 120 delegates and worksite committee members were comprehensively briefed on the Coalition’s new workplace laws, this year’s Conference will be huge. The HACSU 2006 Delegates Conference will be held on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 November at Grindelwald. The Conference will focus on key resolutions passed at the 2005 Delegates Conference. The most important resolution that will be discussed will be: "HACSU Delegates at this Conference hereby make a commitment that we will fight in the campaign against the Howard Government's workplace laws right up to and beyond the next Federal election. We also resolve to hold accountable all politicians who support anti-worker legislation." Attendees can expect to hear from Tasmanian Federal election candidates about their views on Industrial Relations, from the newly employed Community Campaign Co-ordinators (see story page 16) and key union leaders. The aim of this year's Conference will be to formulate a clear and practical plan for influencing the outcome of the upcoming Federal election and changing the Coalition's unfair work laws. Are you a workplace delegate or worksite committee member? Are you interested in helping bring about a change of government? Do you want to help change the WorkChoices legislation? Join us at the 2006 Delegates Conference, 16-17 November. Registration and program information will be available on the HACSU website and from your local HACSU office. As numbers are strictly limited, please ensure you have completed and returned a registration form to your local HACSU office by Monday 16 October. The Conference website can be found at: www.hacsutas.asn.au/campaigns/conference.
