Calvary to Offer Redundancies at St Johns and Lenah ValleyFollowing a reduction in occupancy levels, Calvary management have undertaken a review of staffing and practices. As a result of the review, a decision has been made to cut hours for chefs and catering and housekeeping staff. Initially, voluntary redundancies will be offered in these areas. New rosters incorporating the reduced staffing levels have been distributed to staff and staffs have been asked for feedback and suggestions. Catering staff at St Johns said they were very concerned about the impending cuts. "We're not happy with it because we are already going flat chat Mat the moment," said catering worker Merveen Osmond. "If they cut our hours either work just won't be done or girls won't be able to take proper breaks." HACSU organiser Sue Goldfinch is conducting regular meetings at both St Johns and Calvary whilst changes are being implemented.
