NSW Young Workers Quarantined from Howard’s Laws


Young workers in New South Wales will now have some protection from unfair dismissal.

NSW Premier, Morris Iemma, announced that workers under 18 may now take unfair dismissal claims to the NSW Industrial Relations Commission, even if they are covered by the new Federal IR laws which scrapped unfair dismissal protection.

The NSW government has also set up a hotline for people affected by the Federal IR laws, and have received 110,000 calls in the six months since it was established.
