HACSU Holiday Home

HACSU members own three holiday homes and one holiday unit for exclusive use by members. The homes are located at St Helens, Southport, Arthurs Lake and Sandy Bay and were purchased to provide affordable holiday accommodation for members and their families.

The St Helens home sleeps up to eight people, Southport home sleeps up to six people, Arthurs lake sleeps up to four people which enables families to have a holiday and pay no more than a total of $460.00 during school holidays for seven nights at the home. The Sandy Bay holiday unit sleeps up to four people and is in walking distance to Nutgrove Beach, cafes, parks and other services. The homes are very popular with HACSU members, particularly during school holidays, so book early!

Please note that bookings for St Helens, Southport and Arthurs Lake holiday homes, are allocated through a ballot system for the school holiday period. Ballots are drawn six months prior to the holiday period, for example, the Christmas and New Year's period are drawn at the end of June.

The HACSU Launceston office advises members within two weeks of the ballot being drawn, and are advised regardless of whether members are successful or not. It is recommended that members place their name on the ballot list at least nine months prior to the holiday period by contacting Laura on 1300 880 032

The Sandy Bay unit is available on a first-in, first-served basis.

To help keep the rental costs down, it is the responsibility of members staying at the holiday homes and unit to ensure they are left in a clean and tidy condition for the next member. You will need to supply your own general cleaning products (all purpose cleaner, dishwashing liquid, etc) for this purpose. In the event that the holiday homes or unit are left in an unclean state it may result in you forfeiting your deposit or being barred from using the holiday homes again.

Also, due to health requirements, you will also need to supply your own linen (doonas, sheets, blankets, pillows, pillowcases, towels, etc).

It is also important to note, that whilst the home is covered by insurance, any damage that occurs whilst you are using the home will result in you being charged for any insurance excess.

Please note NO PETS are allowed at the HACSU Holiday Home.

The St Helens, Southport and Arthurs Lake Holiday Homes are rented out on the following different time periods.

7 night rental option (Sunday to Saturday)
5 night rental option (Sunday to Thursday)
2 night weekend option (Friday and Saturday)

Sandy Bay is rented out on a single night option but can be rented for 7 or 5 night options at a cheaper rate. The exception to this would be school holiday periods in Tasmania where the rental period is a minimum of 7 nights.
