St Helens and Southport Holiday Homes and Sandy Bay UnitHACSU members own two holiday homes and one holiday unit for exclusive use by members. The homes are located at St Helens, Southport, and Sandy Bay and were purchased to provide affordable holiday accommodation for members and their families. The seaside homes sleep up to eight people which enables families to have a holiday and pay no more than a total of $330.00 for seven nights at the home. The Sandy Bay holiday unit sleeps up to four people and is walking distance to Nutgrove Beach, cafes, parks and other services. The homes are very popular with HACSU members, particularly during school holidays, so book early! Please note that bookings for St Helens and Southport holiday homes, are allocated through a ballot system for the school holiday period. The Sandy Bay unit is available on a first-in, first-served basis. Ballots are drawn six months prior to the holiday period, for example, the Christmas and New Year's period are drawn at the end of June. The HACSU Launceston office advises members within two weeks of the ballot being drawn, and are advised regardless of whether members are successful or not. It is recommended that members place their name on the ballot list at least nine months prior to the holiday period.
