Retirement Benefit Fund - Elections Close 11 May 2004

21 April 2004

Elections are currently being held for a number of independant Director positions on the RBF Board. HACSU Members who are members of the fund will have recently received a ballot for the elections. Kerryl Grey, a current and experienced member of the Accumulation Scheme Board has provided HACSU with a statement seeking re election. Members are urged to vote.

Kerryl helped design the RBF Accumulation Scheme. He worked for 13 years in the union movement in Tasmania's public sector where his responsibilities included much work on the content of the RBF Accumulation Scheme Trust Deed which governs members' benefits and entitlements. Among other things, Kerryl played a significant role in improving the health benefit clauses of the Trust Deed.

Kerryl Grey knows how the RBF Accumulation Scheme works to fund your retirement, to provide you with ill-health benefits and also to give your family financial security in the event of untimely death. As a member of the Accumulation Scheme himself Kerryl is directly affected by decisions in the same way as other members.

During his past 3-years as a member of the RBF Board, he has supported member education campaigns for you to get the most from your scheme. He has supported the provision of financial planning advice to members. And he has participated in the decisions which result in the returns you get on your RBF super investment.

The RBF is governed by an independent Board which is not beholden to Government, the private sector or sectional interests. As is required by corporations law Kerryl is an independent member of the Board and works only for the overall interests of all members of the scheme.

Kerryl has a long history of decision-making and advocacy for the well-being of working people. He has particular knowledge and skills regarding superannuation.

He asks that you support him to continue with this work.
