Relay for Life: Join the HACSU team04 December 2002HACSU is again this year entering a team in the Relay For Life event that is run by the Cancer Council Tasmania in February 2003.HACSU members are invited to join HACSU staff and support a worthy cause.
Why not join the HACSU team and support a worthy cause. There is an overnight component but, judging from last year's event, it will be a lot of fun. Bring your sleeping bag. HACSU will provide a tent. The event requires each team to have a member on the track for the whole time the event is running. You can walk or run it is up to you. Each team is required to have a baton, which is carried by a team member around the track. Each time the baton passes your team's site you score a lap. There will be food available for purchase as well as free entertainment or you can bring your own food. BBQ's are a good idea. Alcohol can be taken into the event but it is not available to be purchased. Cost of entering the event is $10.00 per person paid in advance. This will give you a team t-shirt and a book of receipts to collect money, after all that is what the event is about raising money. If you can't enter the event, then sponsor the HACSU team by making a donation of a gold coin. There are also events in Launceston or Devonport, which are held after the Hobart event. If you want to get involved then you can contact HACSU Team Leader Craig Stringer on 6231 2253 or email craig@hacsutas.net.au
