St Luke’s nurses’ postgraduate allowance dispute back in AIRC13 December 2002The postgraduate allowance dispute at St Luke's Private Hospital remains unresolved and has been listed for conference in the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) on Monday 16 December at 9.30 am. At the previous AIRC conference on Tuesday 10 September it was determined that as the matter may be subject to arbitration and was adjourned at St Luke's request to enable them to seek further advice. St Luke's Private Hospital will not recognise the qualifications of St Luke's is the ONLY private hospital in Tasmania that does not recognise hospital certificates for nurses who hold relevant additional qualifications. Leanne McDougall (HACSU Nursing Industrial Officer) said, "St Luke's nurses are frustrated over the employers unwillingness to honour an agreement that was negotiated in good faith. They are determined that this matter be resolved in line with their enterprise agreement."
