HAS YOUR EMPLOYER SIGNED UP?

19 August 2010

In March 2010, HACSU, as part of a coalition of unions involved with community and disability service workers, lodged a joint application for equal remuneration with Fair Work Australia.

The Australian Council of Social Services (ACOSS) is asking
organisations to sign on to support the unions Equal Pay case for
Community Service Workers.

The application aims to increase the pay of workers in Community and
Disability Services by comparing their pay to work of comparable or
equal value. For example, it looks at work undertaken in community
organisations and compares it with work undertaken in other industries
and sectors like the public sector or a male dominated industry with
similar qualifications.

ACOSS have placed a statement of support on their website, and are
asking organisations to sign to say that they support the Equal Pay Case.
Has your employer signed up?
Check the ACOSS website now at www.acoss.org.au and look for the
link "Do you support Equal Pay for community workers?" If your
employer is listed, they have signed up for equal pay.

If your employer has not yet signed up, ask them to email or phone Tessa
Boyd-Caine, Senior Policy Officer at ACOSS on Tessa.Boyd-
Caine@acoss.org.au, or on 02 9310 6200.
