Corumbene Industrial Action Continues26 August 2003Members of the Health and Community Services Union (HACSU) at Corumbene Nursing Home voted on Friday to continue with industrial action involving work bans and rolling stoppages. Members will walk off the job today at 4.30pm until 6.00pm today, Tuesday 26 August after giving management 24 hours notice, to enable alternative arrangements to be put in place to care for the residents. Leanne McDougall, HACSU Industrial Officer said: "Members have been forced to continue with this action because Management have refused to give a commitment that cuts to staffing are off the agenda. Members are doing this to protect residents from the impact of cuts. If these cuts go ahead members will not be able to continue the quality of care to the residents. The New Norfolk Community is invited to attend a public meeting at 7.00pm on Wednesday 3 September at the New Norfolk District football Clubrooms, to inform them about what is happening at Corumbene."
