IMPORTANT: New industrial action has started

The next step is to ramp up our industrial action. Here's all the information about the new bans and actions starting today for HAHSA employees and AHPs.

The second round of industrial action starts at 8am on Monday 8 October.

It involves the continuation of the current working to rule in addition to the following action.

 

NEW action for all HACSU members:

  • Wearing badges with campaign messaging
  • Wearing union branded clothing
  • Distributing union campaign material to members of the public
  • Using the union signature block on all correspondence

 

NEW work bans & actions FOR SPECIFIC AREAS:

Administration officers will also bring in these bans…

  • All patients admitted as public patients
  • Cease provision of yellow forms for compensable patients.
  • Cease collection and/or processing of compensable patient details
  • Cease collection of overseas patient payment details


Building and engineering
will also bring in these bans…

  • No handling of petty cash
  • No driving of government cars
  • No logging of new BEIMS/Pulses
  • No BEIMS/Pulse = No job


Specialist Clinics
will also bring in this ban…

  • No processing of Medicare claims

 
Medical records will also bring in this ban…

  • No providing of stats


Environmental services will also bring in these bans…

  • No collection of waste from any non-clinical areas at the LGH this includes executive offices and all outside areas
  • Cease completion of task (tick)sheets

 
Food services will also bring in these bans…

  • NICS Café will be closed will be closed effective 15 October 2018
  • No provision of catering (NWRH)

 
Main reception/Switch will also bring in this ban…

  • No corrections will be made to roster errors for all staff

 
Ward clerks will also bring in these bans…

  • No ordering of stationery
  • Cease patient transfer arrangements to other facilities

 
Hospital aides will also bring in these bans…

  • No cleaning of pan rooms
  • No removal of linen or rubbish from all wards
  • No delivery of pathology specimens
  • Cease cleaning pantries

 
Housing Tasmania will also bring in these bans…

  • Cease processing of rental increases
  • Cease recovery of vacated maintenance debt


All Allied Health Professionals will also bring in these bans...

  • Strict adherence to referral processes
  • ‍Cease fee waivers
  • Cease actioning Ministerial or external complaint
    requests
  • No reporting on data collection (IPM, ABC and Honos)
  • No coding of MAIB or Workers Compensation


Pathology will also bring in these bans…

  • Withholding
    Medicare and private health data
  • For 2-hour periods during the day phones will be redirected to the
    Minister for Health


Child Safety Service will also bring in these bans…

  • Vacant out of home care requests that cannot be filled
    will be directed to the Human Service Minister
  • Child Safety Officers will claim overtime when
    required to work through scheduled breaks


Alcohol and Drug Service will also bring in these bans…

  • Cease the
    transition to DMR of clients notes
  • No participation
    in accreditation tasks


Pharmacy will also bring in this ban…

  • No 10am and 4:45pm stores deliveries (LGH)


Radiology admin will also bring in this ban…

  • No transporting patients to and from DEM

 
John L Grove hospital assistants will also bring in these bans…

  • No additional cleaning duties
  • No room swaps
  • No delivery of pathology specimens

 
Medical orderlies will also bring in these bans…

  • No training of new casual staff
  • Suspension of discussions concerning relieving AIN meal breaks
  • No delivery of patient notes
  • No transfer of patients to private hospital
  • Enforce minimum staffing for bed movements
  • No charging patients for crutches


Operating suite cleaners will also bring in these bans…

  • No collection of rubbish from non-clinical areas (includes all offices and staff areas)
  • No cleaning, emptying or restocking of dishwashers


Medical transcription service will also bring in this ban…

  • All staff will work strictly to their SOD. Any additional duties or tasks will not be performed


Adult day centres
will also bring in this ban…

  • Cease washing Government provided buses and cars

These work bans and actions will focus on taking our campaign to the community, so the impact is very hard on the government and minimal on the community.
