HACSU's Disability Workers Week: 3-9 December

Posted on 21 November, 2023 in Social Community and Disability Sector

We’re running our annual Disability Workers Week again this year from 3–9 December to say thanks for all you do for our communities and our loved ones.

You do vital work to support people with a disability and we think there needs to be more public awareness about just how crucial your services are.

It’s also why we’re running our national Support Disability Support Workers campaign right now, to fight for better funding, better policy and better outcomes for you and the people you support.

Our Disability Workers Week is a massive week of events where HACSU members get the chance to see us at their work, grab some free merch and win prizes on our DWW scratchies!

This year our main prizes are $600, $300 and $150 in your choice of Coles or Woolies gift cards. On top of that, there will be multiple $50 gift cards up for grabs, as well as a second chance draw of $300 which will be drawn the week after.

We’re also holding BBQs and other community events across the state for you and your participants to come along to – here's where you'll find us:

  • Devonport BBQ - Monday 4 December - Devonport Bluff (near park area) at 12.30pm
  • Burnie BBQ – Tuesday 5 December – Burnie Park (near the playground) at 12.30pm
  • Launceston BBQ – Monday 4 December – Hoo Hoo Haven, Heritage Forest, Conway St, Mowbray at 12pm
  • Hobart BBQ – Saturday 9 December - Tolosa Park Hut 9 (Peppermint hut) at 12.30pm

We can't wait to see you there!
